We’ve made it. The final season will begin in just a few hours from now and will hopefully reveal the answers to all of our questions.

This event also raises some questions in my mind as to what this website should become when Lost reaches its final conclusion. Essentially, this site has one main feature: the Lost Countdown Timer. And in a few months, the time will run out.

The question is: What would you like the Countdown Timer to become when the show ends? I envision that it will live on as a customizable widget you can use to countdown to anything. What functionality would you like it to have? Where would you like to embed it?

Whatever the case may be I’ve been amazed by the popularity of this little widget and I hope it can continue to be used to save the world. Enjoy the final season!

Looking down the barrel of a 250 day shotgun, I find myself desperate to find a way to fill this time; while staying within the Lost Universe… it’s not like I want to tackle any major life issues or improve myself in any way. Ah, but that’s where this fine show has proved itself to be a cut above, my friends. Due to this show’s mythological tie-ins and multimedia treasure hunts, I have found myself actually researching topics for this show; heck, I’ve even joined a blogging site to discuss my wild theories and feed on everyone elses’ thoughts like some kind of voracious Technological Dinosaur, savoring his first bytes (you see why no one has let me do this before). Yes, Lost has made me a more complete TV viewer and a better person! It has awakened a thirst for knowledge and a desire to communicate with my contemporaries. Why, when I go to the watercooler now, I blow all of that Idol talk out of the water by discussing the parallels between the Island and Pandora’s Box (which I could now do a very respectable high school level report on). Now, granted, I realize myself to be a wee eccentric, but I wonder if I can’t convince anyone else out there to join this revoultion. Let me break it down for you….

For 2 years now(yes, I joined in after the release of the first season and I know I’ll never be a pure-blood), I have spent my dayjob hours cruising fan sites in search of screen capture wizards and learned bloggers. I caught the first sub-lymonal ads and called the Hanso Foundation. Somewhere along the way, I stumbled upon a theory about the Trials of Hercules and their relation to the Dharma Stations. I knew nothing of the Trials of Hercules (I had seen the Disney film, but I didn’t think that counted) and was anxious to see just how much of it matched up. Turns out there were some interesting correlations; I could mention them but it would defeat the purpose of this post (for credit’s sake, thanks GreyBishop). What dumbfounded me was the fact that I had just spent several hours voluntarily learning in the hopes of not debunking his point, but helping to prove it. As time went on, and more questions came sans answers, I found that the thing that kept me a loyal viewer was this desire to “use” the show to learn. Everytime we didn’t get an answer, I logged on and read as one or more fans advanced their own multi-layered theories; often steeped in another civilization’s mythology or a work of classical literature. Before I knew it, I had learned more about Greek Mythology than I ever did in college, I read a few books not written by Gary Troup and I began Googling Monoclonal research. I eagerly applied what I learned to support or advance, I even began sending myself out on my own information hunts (ever read Carrol’s …Through the Looking Glass?) in the hopes of finding my own parallels. After all of that schooling, I have only now discovered a desire to learn for learning’s sake and I credit Lost and its fans for that gift. Yes, this is the revolution I speak of; taking a love of television beyond the couch and into the libraries, adding it to your morning coffee and making use of that degree in whatever. In short, bringing the brain back to TV. I hope some of you out there agree with me. It’s fine to get all caught up in Sanjaya’s hair or get truly anxious to see if that girl with the prosthetic arm is going to be dancing next week… but I am looking for more. When was the last time a TV show made you anxious to talk and learn? I am off to learn more about Pandora’s Box and to search for references to clairaudience ( I had never even heard of that term before Walt). What have you learned in relation to or because of Lost? Let us know, I would love to see where this goes. The revolution has begun and I believe it can teach us much! – Thanks everyone -

It’s about movies! In my travels I’ve been hearing lots of hype about all the big movies that are coming out this summer and when I looked a little deeper I was amazed to discover that so many are sequels, and even more astounded to find that the majority of these are the third in the series or higher!

When it comes to movies, I’m hard to impress, and often times when I am impressed by a movie it spawns into a series of movies. Being a loyal fan I am sure to see the continuation of the story lines and characters I love so dearly. The second film in the series is usually never as good as the first but I often find them to be a solid effort, after all they have to live up to the greatness of the first.

Then comes number three. The third in a series is always about the money, and since they already have a following, they know that fans will go to see it whether it is good or bad. This pattern fuels my skepticism towards all of these sequels that are coming out this summer, lets take a look at them all.

Third in the Series:

Spiderman 3:
May 4
I’m a big fan of the Spiderman films; they have successfully brought together the action of a superhero film with emotional story lines that normal, non-super people can relate to. I haven’t seen this one yet but several friends have told me it doesn’t compare to its predecessors.

Shrek the Third:
May 18
Those people at Dreamworks can do some amazing things with digital animation and there is no doubt this movie will look even better that Shrek One and Two. I enjoyed the first two in this series and I think the story line could continue in a satisfying direction.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End:
May 25
The first Pirates movie was alright, Rob and I were fans of pirates long before that movie came out, we had made our own pirate movie called “Invasion from Pirates Cove” we joined a pirate website, and of course we celebrated talk like a pirate day before the rest of you even knew it existed.

But when it comes to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (the second one) I agree with the Ask a Ninja guy, it was bad. Sure there were some cool effects to look at but the plot was impossible to follow and dragged out way to long, this third one might beat the second but it probably won’t be very good.

Ocean’s 13:
June 8
I saw the first but not the second. I greatly enjoyed Ocean’s 11, had a rich tapestry of actors, a decent plot, and great direction. But how many casino robberies can one group of people get away with?

The Bourne Ultimatum:
Aug 3
I never saw the first two so I can’t really say much about this one. From what I gather the Bourne series is like a one-man “amazing race” involving some type of government conspiracy.

Rush Hour 3:
Aug 10
I have a hard time remembering what happened in the first two, besides the unbelievable fighting skills of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. Those two can get out of any tight spot. I’m sure this one will have more of the same.

More than Third:

Live Free or Die Hard:
June 27
Bruce Willis and Justin “Hello I’m a Mac” Long team up in this thriller. It’s the fourth in the “Die Hard” series, I’ve never seen any of the Die Hard films but I’d expect explosions, gunfire, and car chases.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:
July 13
We just can’t get enough Harry Potter! The boy who lived is back to fight “You-Know-Who” in the fifth film in the series, based of course on the fifth book in the series. Harry Potter fever is sure to be in high gear this summer as the final book in the series is released just one week after this movie comes out.

Number Two’s:

28 Weeks Later:
May 13
Rob and I were big fans of the first one: 28 Days Later a post-apocalyptic thriller, which featured a virus called “rage” sweeping through London. The first had a gritty feel and was shot independently while the sequel looks to be “more Hollywood” as Rob so eloquently put it. It does feature Harold Perrineau, whom you may be more familiar with in the role of Michael on Lost.

Hostel: Part II:
June 8
Part of the Hostel horror series. This one features three beautiful college co-eds who check in to the deadly Bates Motel.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer:
June 15
Yet another comic book adaptation. This film features the Silver Surfer, I recognize him from the Capri Sun commercials.

Evan Almighty:
June 22
Sequel to the comedy “Bruce Almighty” this film follows the story of Noah’s Ark in a modern day context. Starring Steve Carell, so you know it’s going to be good!

Daddy Day Camp:
Aug 8
Sequel to Daddy Day Care, this one is a family film that the kids are sure to enjoy. Starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and directed by that guy from the Wonder Years, (also featured as “The Mole” in “Austin Powers in Goldmember”).

So there you have it, the round up of all the sequels you can expect this summer. They are sure to bring in record sales but will they live up to the hype? Probably not.

Spoiling is sweeping the nation. The highly addictive but dangerous activity Steve mentioned in a recent entry has consumed the life of youngsters and adults alike. I’ve recently broken the habit but many others are unable to stop. Spoiling or exposing yourself to “spoilerific” materials can destroy your personal relationships and well being. Additionally, it sucks the fun right out of LOST. My anti-spoilers include Frisbee, and Nintendo Wii. Hurry and get yourself an anti-spoiler, before you ruin the season finale for yourself and all those around you.

So next time a friend asks, “Do you wanna spoil?”
Just reply, “Nah, I spoil clowns like you on the Wii Sports tennis court.”

So go out and buy yourself a Nintendo Wii, an Ultimate Frisbee to toss around, or even a puppy. Stay spoil free! Ever since I quit, my life has improved and I feel better about myself, my life, and I enjoy LOST more.

How do you all feel about spoilers?

The prizes up for grabs were the wonderful Lost Puzzles created by TDC Games. The first three puzzles had three themes: the first was The hatch, the second was the others, and the third was the numbers. We gave away one of each in our fan film contest (we’ve been meaning to show those winning entries for a while… but before I digress, lets get back on topic). I’ve heard that these puzzles were quite challenging to put together because they do not come with an image of the completed puzzle.

In the time since our contest was completed the fourth and final puzzle in the series has been released. This one is called “Before the Crash” and as you guessed, it features events and connections our favorite Lost characters experienced before the crash.

As people began to solve these puzzles they discovered something very interesting, something that I was not even aware of. If you have all 4 puzzles, correctly assembled, turned upside-down, aligned properly, and under black light (or in a dark room after being exposed to bright light) the blast door map is visible! I am a big fan of the blast door map as you may already know.

So there’s another reason to go out and put together your own collection of these puzzles. If you’d like to get your hands on these puzzles you can purchase them by clicking one of the links below. And keep a look out, there may be another contest coming up!

The most important love affair in Lost is of course the Jack/Sawyer/Kate love triangle. Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said Kate made her choice for Sawyer in the mini-season, with a hot and steamy love scene in a cage. But did Kate make the right choice, and isn’t it time for her to look at some of the other characters in Lost? Let‚Äôs find out…

Skate: First is the obvious choice, Sawyer. Sawyer is the conman who seems to have stolen Kate‚Äôs heart, and has the best understanding of her background. Using his ever popular nicknames, from ‘Pippi Longstockings’ to ‘Sheena’, and of course ‘Freckles’, he may slowly make her realize that he is the man for Kate. His many shirtless appearances make the female audience of the show melt, and of course, every girl loves a bad boy.

Jate: Their connection became apparent in the first moments after the crash. Jack, the pretty boy doctor, used his wounds to get close to Kate. He got to show how much of a man he is by letting Kate stitch his wounds back together. However, Kate and her rebellious nature didn’t go together with Jack’s authority. When Jack didn’t have to play boss, Kate would make up a mission to get some private time. This way, they could get “caught in a net”.

Late: With her passion for men in charge, Kate’s next choice could be John Locke. With Jack in Othersville, and Sawyer turning into a slime ball, Locke is the macho man for Kate. Wth his bright shining head, and many years of life experience, how can she resist him? Locke would make sure there’s food on the table, as Kate makes up a Boarburgernight. However, Locke may still be into Helen, so Kate might have to use a disguise from the medical hatch.

Hate: Hurley is the teddy bear of the island, and what girl doesn’t like a teddy bear? He used his seducing powers on Libby, and is twice the man any other islander could ever be. With his many millions he could bribe the cops that are after Kate, or build a cop-free land. Kate also loves chocolate, so she could steal some Apollo bars from Hurley’s secret stash.

Bate: Ben is one of the good guys, and Kate will just have to see things from a different perspective. Sure, he has ordered to kill Sawyer, and he‚Äôs made Kate work in a weird quarry, but it’s all for the greater good. Ben made sure that Kate is well dressed, and has enough to eat. With his power in Othersville, he is the obvious choice for Kate.

Date: Desmond, weird hatch guy. His rough appearance and his crazy ramblings don’t scare Kate. He has shown his survival skills and will make sure nothing happens to Kate. His newly found powers could also be very useful to her. The only problem is his everlasting love for Penny, so Kate must really use her seductive powers to make Desmond her man!

Rate: Maybe Kate discovers she’s into girls… it’s a stretch but it’s Lost, anything could happen right? Rachel Blake could be one of the Others that has to work with Kate. This way the long-expected tie in with the Lost Experience is created, and it would give Kate’s love stories a whole new dimension. Also, it would make a lot of male viewers very happy!

It seems there are still a lot of people Kate could choose. Why should she choose Sawyer, when there are still a lot of others Kate could fall in love with? I think the Kate love adventures haven’t ended with Sawyer. So whom will she choose? Maybe this is why Nikki was added to the show… or maybe she’ll go for one of the main characters. Time will tell, but my money‚Äôs on Locke!

How have you been spending the hiatus? Personally, I’ve found it difficult to cope (particullarly on Wednesday nights) but have managed to pass the time by playing Frisbee, working, and watching movies and television.

Now, don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not “cheating” on LOST. We just agreed to see other people for a month or two. It’s been tough, but I have been able to fufill my needs (to an extent) by sleeping with… err… by watching some other television programs.

It is my intention to help you through the second half of the hiatus by recomending to you a few television programs that you can pick up at your local DVD Emporium. I will tell you of my favorites during this break.

For those of you feeling a desire for the suspensful cliffhangers that LOST provides us with, with a dash of action and a scoop of conspiracy, I recomend Prison Break – Season One. This show is quite enjoyable and I watched the first season, in its entierty, in a matter of days. I couldn’t stop watching. The show is like crack.

And for those of you who can’t stop thinking about that funny feeling LOST left you with when it would reveal a new mystery and when an unexplainable event would occur, I would seriously recommend picking up The 4400 – The Complete First Season. The first season is only 6 episodes, but they are gripping to say the least. I look forward to the next few seasons, which are already out. The 4400 is a very unique show and I believe a lot of LOST fans would enjoy it. The premise is that 4400 people who had previously dissapeared of the face of the planet over the last 50 years or so suddenly reappear and none have aged at all. Some of them have special powers which are not neccesarily being used for good. I will say no more! Pick it up today.

I hope that these ideas may help you to survive the latter part of this hiatus! Good luck!

Why, hello, hello, my fellows LOST fans!

Our sincerest apologies for the lack of updates to the site. It’s tough to have fresh material in the summer and Stephen and I have been quite busy.

As you already know, Stephen has been busy traveling [to London] this summer. He’s also been busy working on a website for a client. A few exciting things have happened in Stephen’s life this summer.

He purchased a brand new Mac Book (I can’t tell you how jealous I am) and is now the proud owner of an ipod nano as well.

Additionally, he runs with his new ipod nano, purely for the joy of technology, for he has acquired a pair of Nike+ smart shoes.

My life hasn’t been all dull either… I have been working as a Mad Scientist this summer. Yes, that is my real job title, and if there are no further question we will move on. I’ve purchased a brand new Trek bicycle (so that I no longer require the use of the girls bike seen in The Junction), have been playing Ultimate Frisbee twice a week (that just about makes life worth living).

Additionally, I have been playing plenty of poker both at a home game and on the internet on my site of choice; Pokerroom.com

Stephen and I plan to completely redesign the site in September. You see once we’re back at school in September, we will have nothing better to do. We also follow the words of a great philosopher: “While LOST comes after employment, LOST never, under any circumstances, comes after school.” LOST always comes before studying or homework of any kind. Remember that kids.

We will be bringing you subscribable feeds galore, innovative features, the best LOST video podcasts on the web, and a handsome site to host it. Also be on the lookout for our greatest LOST video ever, shot on an actual island, guaranteed accurate and guaranteed amusing… Coming this fall: your season 3 preview from Rob and Steve!

Until next time, this is Robert, saying “Namaste!”

So, In our last podcast you may have heard I was going to London, and that was true. You may have also heard that I planned to do a video podcast of Lost related investigations that I would carry out while I was there, this however will not happen because I did little investigating and almost no videography, and I don’t think that any investigations would have produced many results even if I did put some effort into them. There was probably only one Lost finding that is worth mentioning and you’ll find that at the end of this entry, it’s pretty cool.

But first, I’ll tell you about my trip, and try to relate it to Lost in any way possible. My family and I flew Virgin Atlantic on the Boeing 747 pictured below. Airplane travel is quite Lost related and that is why I mention it.

We departed from JFK twoard our destination: Heathrow, and did not expierience any Lost like island plane crashes, but I think we saw Charlie on the plane.

We saw the usual sights. Big Ben:

The London Eye:

Went to Kings Cross and tried to get on Platform Nine and Three Quarters:

But one of the places we went to did bear a resemblance to a formation seen on Lost: that rock with a hole in it:

We all know about Stonehenge, It’s a prehistoric momument that seems to have some relation to the heavens, perhaps a giant sundial type thing, or maybe some form of religious worship temple or sacrafice area, actually we don’t really know about Stonehenge now that I think about it, and we don’t really know about those rocks seen on Lost near the other’s fake camp.

But the most unexpected Lost finding I was lucky enough to discover is apparantly some Hanso merchandising: Joop cologne!! The finest monkey extract from the oldest monkey in the world, or ape or what ever he is. If you don’t know who Joop is you’ve got to get with the program, here’s his picture from the Hanso Foundation website:

And here is his legendary scent, apparantly at 40% off!

So in conclusion, this trip did not hold as many Lost revalations as I had hoped, but as you can see there was a pleasant surprise that I quite enjoyed. Hopefully a future trip will reveal more answers.

The balloon and pregnancy test are photographed below. The producers want us to notice these Widmore refferences, but what does it mean?

I have illustrated my own version of this map based on screen captures and information from lost.cubit.net. (Thanks Sledge)

Click here to see our interactive version of the map.

In this entry I will be asking my questions about the mysterious aspects of Lockdown, the 17th episode of the second season of LOST. I will be focusing on 4 main things: Locke’s flashbacks, the events that happen in the hatch, The “Henry Gale” situation, and the Dharma supply drop. However, I will not be answering my questions here just because there are so many.

My thoughts about the possible answers to these questions will be discussed in LOST4815162342.com’s forthcoming podcast, which promises to be thoughtful, informative, and entertaining. Here is my list of questions to be covered:

Locke’s flashbacks:

What happened to the money between time of pick up and drop off?

What’s with the Oceanic Planes?

Is Anthony Cooper’s bag an Oceanic Airlines bag?

At the end of the episode, where do the events of the flashbacks leave Locke?

Hatch Events:

What causes a lockdown to occur and what is it’s purpose?

Why was the power fluctuating?

At what point in the swan station computer’s countdown was the code entered?

Are the lockdown and the swan station computer system in any way related?

What does the black light map tell us?

Henry Gale Situation:

Did Faux Gale know the numbers, and other aspects of the dharma program?

What did Faux Gale do during the time we did not see him, during the entering of the code?

Why doesn’t Faux Gale run away?

Who is this guy?

Dharma Supply Drop:

What previous questions does the Supply Drop answer?

Does this number, seen on the box of cereal and on the macaroni and cheese supper from the supply drop, have any significance?
DI 9FFTR731

Be sure to check out our podcast where we will discuss all of these things and more. Check the podcast page of this website to find out how to subscribe when it is available.
