Early last season, Tom told Kate “You’re not my type.” leading us to believe that perhaps he wasn’t into fugitives, or that she was too young for him, too attractive, but I think most people suspected from that statement that Tom’s “type” was other men. And in last night’s episode we were given the proof that Tom was in fact gay. Another Lost mystery solved.

I envision that Jin is still on the island and for some reason was unable to join Sun on the journey back to civilization.

However on the other side of the argument many have already thought and accepted that Jin is actually dead. It is very hard to tell from the dialogue between Sun and Hurley whether the grave represents Jin’s physical death or if it represents a symbolic way to remember that he is still alive, though he is trapped on the island.

What all of this really comes down to is the realization that Lost has given us yet another mystery. What do you think?

What a great episode to set up for the finale! We finally saw the real underwater hatch, and learned what “Through the Looking Glass” refers to. Did anybody catch the dharma logo on that hatch? We also finally were reunited with Rose and Bernard after a whole season in which they were never seen.

With this episode several things are coming together for the conclusion of the season. Which side will prevail in the fight, the others or the survivors? Will rescue finally arrive? Will John Locke return to kick Ben’s ass? Will Jacob take human form? Will Ezra James Sharkington make an appearance? Will the Hurley Bird squawk at Hurley again? And what is going to happen in that Looking Glass station? How are they going to make this last 3 more seasons?

One last question: Why couldn’t they just cut the wire?

Feel free to discuss all of these things in the comments below.

We finally got a Ben flashback episode and it was a good one. I was looking forward to learning more about the Dharma Initiative, but I should have known that they wouldn’t advance that mythology, that gets on my nerves, lets move on… The flashbacks followed Ben’s early years, from his birth through his childhood as well as the infamous “incident” (was that the incident?). When Ben’s mother died after giving birth to him, Ben’s father Roger Linus (aka WorkMan) got a job with the Dharma Initiative. Ben, like many others on the show, is able to see dead people and sees his dead mother. While searching for her he runs into a long haired man who I believe was that eyeliner loving man Richard, and if so those people don’t age. Young Ben reminded me of Harry Potter.

Another important flashback was the purge of the Dharma Initiative. In this flashback the Others / Hostiles gas all of the Dharma people, with the exception of Ben who personally gasses his father. The symptoms caused by this gas reminded me of what the sickness was alleged to have looked like. Perhaps this was how the members of Rousseau’s team were killed.

On the island the events surrounded Ben and Locke’s journey to visit Jacob. When they arrive at Jacob’s house we find out that Jacob is the invisible man, or is he? A spooky voice says “Help Me” to Locke when things start going crazy in Jacob’s house. During the commotion right after Ben tells Jacob to stop “You’ve had your fun” Ben is pushed against the wall and as the camera pans back to the chair we see a shadowy figure, Jacob.

Back on the beach Jack and Juliet have apparently chosen to band together with the other survivors after being accused of conspiring against them. This will lead up to the finale which looks to be an all out war between the others and survivors.

At the end of this episode Locke and Ben are trekking back to the others camp when Ben shows Locke a mass grave filled with Dharma employees. At this point Ben whips out a gun and shoots Locke. Will Locke live or die? What’s the deal with Jacob? What is the Dharma Initiative? Perhaps we will know the answers by 2010.

Namaste new and faithful readers. You may have noticed a lull in our blog posting. I did try to fill the void with those long awaited fan films from nearly a year ago (and if you haven’t seen those, you better check them out right now). I am sure there were many factors that played into the lack of posting for each of the bloggers on this site but for me personally, my postings have diminished because I quit spoilers. Not so much the general ones, like who’s flashback episode is next, or what the premise of the next episode is, but the spoilers that reveal juicy details, for example just last week I heard a spoiler that parachute girl would tell the survivors that the wreckage of flight 815 was found and there were no survivors. If I hadn’t read that spoiler, then that would have been an amazing ending to the episode, but instead I knew it was coming. Therefore I’m steering clear of spoilers as Lost accelerates towards the season finale.

Tonight’s episode confirmed the very popular theory, that John Locke’s Dad was the original Sawyer. It was really no surprise since that theory has been around for a very long time but it was refreshing to see that plot line come to a conclusion. The second biggest thing in this episode was the contemplation of the revelation that flight 815 had no survivors, and the corroborating testimony from Locke’s father. Other than those two fairly big things, not much else was answered. The others are as nonsensical as ever, can someone tell me what those people do, well I guess they can’t tell us everything.

Some fans of Lost thrive on the characters and their relationships with each other, and while I do enjoy that aspect, I find that I’m much more interested in the mythology of the show, and especially the Dharma Initiative. Next week’s episode looks to be a revealing look at Dharma and I can’t wait! I’m interested to see just what will be revealed about Dharma, and how it may relate to what we saw during the Lost Experience.

So as I continue my withdrawal from spoiler addiction, I can feed on the excitement and anticipation of the last few episodes of the season, which I’m sure will be amazing.

Soaking wet in the rain. Wrestling in mud. All while being chased by a huge black monster. No wonder they had to move the show to 10:00 pm.

“Left Behind” was filled with mystery. After the John Locke and the others gas their prisoners and leave their village in a hurry Kate and Juliet wake up in the jungle handcuffed to each other. As the episode unravels we learn that Juliet in fact handcuffed herself to Kate to try to earn her trust. It was a strange way to go about doing it and they sure did beat the crap out of each other. Right from the beginning of the episode when Juliet countered Kate’s sandwich slam, down to the dislocation of Juliet’s shoulder, these women are crazy.

We learn that Juliet and the others have had contact with the smoke monster and can contain it with their electrostatic fences. We also saw that the smoke monster reacted differently when it went after Juliet, flashing bright light onto her.

In the flashbacks we see the story of Kate and Sawyer’s ex girlfriend, Cassidy. They team up to get Kate three minutes with her mom. It was a neat connection that did not serve much of a purpose.

At the conclusion of the episode Kate, Jack, Sayid, and Juliet meet up at the others village and set off for the survivor’s beach. It is clear the Sayid and Kate are opposed to Juliet accompanying them but Jack won’t have it any other way. Juliet is sure to cut the reunion celebration short when they return to the beach but I’m certainly looking forward to seeing all of the survivors together again (minus John Locke of course).

John Locke did not fail to entertain or intrigue on this week’s episode of LOST. While I, and probably many others, were able to guess that The Man From Tallahassee was Locke’s father before we even saw him, it still sent shivers down my spine when we finally saw him. I was so pleased that in true LOST fashion we were given answers, but for every answer, more questions.

It was a fall from a building, which his own father pushed him out of, that broke Locke’s back. How miraculous it truly is now that we know all the details. 8 stories!!!

But what is this box on the island? It will give you whatever you desire?

All that is certain, is I wouldn’t want to be Anthony Cooper right now.

The last few episodes of Lost were full of neat little revelations. We finally saw the flame station, before it went up in flames. We got some information out of eye patch man, though we can’t be sure if all of what he said was true. We saw some more maps which revealed the presence of underground tunnels. But the biggest revelation in my opinion is that Claire and Jack are half-siblings.

The possibility that Claire and Jack were half-brother-sister had been around since last season when Christian Shepherd and Ana Lucia went on a week long drinking binge in Australia. It was an episode that I disliked very much, but now that I see how it set up this twist through the confrontation of Jack’s dad and Claire’s Aunt I can appreciate it slightly more. Now the question is, when, how and if Jack and Claire will discover this connection. The body of their father is presumably on the island somewhere. If I remember correctly when Jack found the coffin it was empty, so either the body fell out and is lying around somewhere, someone took it (maybe Nikki and Paulo), or Christian Shepherd came back to life after the crash and is alive and well.

In any case, I think it’s sweet that this connection was unearthed. Claire and Jack have both lost a lot in their lives (parents, significant others) maybe now they’ll find each other. And Jack can be an uncle!

Now lets move on to some questions I have:

If the flame was really the “hub”, shouldn’t blowing it up cut off power to the rest of the island, with out power the security fence wouldn’t work and Othersville would be having a blackout.

If the swan hatch implosion set off an electro magnetic pulse, then how was that computer in the flame still working. In theory all electronic circuitry would have been fried by an EMP of that magnitude so there shouldn’t have even been power let alone electronic devices that still worked. (Unless my understanding of EMP’s is askew, and if you wish to correct me, don’t use Ocean’s Eleven as a reference)

Who are the Others? Isn’t it amazing how little we know about them. All the writers do is tease tease tease, come on, throw us a freakin bone here. I’m getting fed up with the inability for the survivors to ask the right questions. It’s like the writers say to themselves:
“- Well Sawyer could ask Karl what the others do.
- But we don’t know what the others do.
- Shouldn’t we figure that out.
- No, lets just give a half-assed answer and then have Sawyer let Karl go.”
I’ve been able to live with this for quite some time, this was the pattern through out most of the second season, but come on, if you writers think you can keep playing these tricks with out losing ratings, you’re crazy.

Well I think I’ve ranted enough, overall I must say that in my opinion, even with it’s flaws, Lost is still the best show on television and no matter what happens, I’ll be watching.

Next week we have a Locke episode, I’ve always been a big fan of those, and we will finally know how Locke ended up in a wheelchair. I sure hope its satisfying.

And yeah, she’s pretty dead. It’s all about Hurley and his ‘curse’, and about finding hope.

The episode starts of with a flashback of our favorite little dude. He’s on his driveway working on a car. His father tells him to start his car. Hugo says it’s useless since they don’t have a carburetor. His father then gives him the advice this episode is based on: “Having hope is never stupid. You’ve got to believe good things will happen and they will.” His father then hops on his motorcycle to go to Vegas and leaves Hurley with a chocolate bar to fill the void.

Back on the island we see Hurley talking about all the things that have happened on the island. In one of the most emotional scenes of this season, he tells someone about the situation on the island, that everyone is freaked out and that he’s been scared for the entire time. The camera then turns to show he’s talking to Libby’s grave. Hurley then walks to Charlie, who’s being depressed about his upcoming death, when Vincent shows up with a mummified arm. Hurley follows him into the jungle and finds an abandoned Dharma VW van.

In his flashback, we see Tricia Tanaka, a reporter, filming a puff piece about Hurley winning the lottery. He’s just bought the Chicken Shack because ‘he loves chicken’ and Tricia wants to make a happy little news item. When she enters the Shack a meteor falls from the sky and blows up the entire Shack, including Tricia Tanaka. So Tricia Tanaka is dead and Hurley thinks it’s his entire fault because of the cursed numbers.

Hurley goes back to the beach to tell the others about the van. Paulo is complaining about the lack of Dharma Oat Bars. He really is one of the most annoying characters on TV EVER! I really hope he’s an Other so they can kill him in a horrible way. Hurley asks who wants to come fix the van, but no one wants to. Jin doesn’t know what’s going on, so Hurley takes him with him.

In the mean time Sawyer and Kate are getting near the beach. Kate wants Sawyer to apologize for something but he doesn’t want to. Kate gets mad and it seems they never get together again. In the rest of the episode it is shown that Sawyer really loves Kate and that he wants to apologize for whatever he did.

When Sawyer goes to talk to Hurley about his missing stash, Hurley is really happy to see him. Finding the van and Sawyer returning are signs that there still is hope. Jin, Sawyer and Hurley then try to fix the van, because they need something good to happen. Everything has gone wrong, so something needs to go well for them to feel better.

In the flashbacks we see Hurley getting more and more under the influence of the ‘curse’. He thinks everything that has gone wrong is because of the numbers and in the end he needs to go to Australia to find out why. On the island however, the story is about Hurley loosing the curse. They try to kick-start the car by rolling it down a hill, and if it wouldn’t start it would crash against the rocks. Hurley then believes the car will start, and that he isn’t cursed and the car starts.

Kate is still trying to get Jack back. She teams up with Locke and Sayid and they go into the jungle. It turns out Kate is looking for Rousseau. Kate wants her to help them look for Othersville, because they have her daughter.

This was a great happy filler episode. It’s a nice break from all the misery of the other episodes and is a great set-up for the upcoming episodes. Is it just me, or is Hurley really the one that isn’t supposed to be on the island? He’s the one who always brings laughter and good times, and in his flashbacks he’s never done anything wrong. This in combination with his special connection to the numbers makes him special. Maybe he’s supposed to be a pivotal character in the upcoming story on the island?

Did this Jack-centric episode live up to its promises? Let’s find out.

This episode was about Jack turning to the dark side. In his flashbacks he goes crazy in Puhket and on the island it seems he’s joining the Others. The Others are investigating the murder on Pickett, so Julliet is now the captive. Jack is moved to Sawyers cage (the one where he just saw Sawyer and Kate getting it on) where one of the Others, Sheriff Isabel, asks him about his tattoos.

In the meantime, Kate wants to go back and save Jack. Sawyer and Karl convince her not to do it, because Ben would kill them. Instead they go to the island and make camp. Sawyer really takes the lead, and Kate’s not too happy about it.

On Other’s island, Julliet gets Jack, because Ben‚Äôs stitches are infected. He doesn‚Äôt want to help him. He is being locked up again and then he gets interrogated by the sheriff-lady. At this moment Jack suddenly decides to help Julliet, and doesn‚Äôt tell about the video she showed him. After this Jack gets locked up in his cage again. When he wakes up Cindy and the other kidnapped Tailies are standing around and tell him they‚Äôre here to watch. Jack gets angry and they all leave.

On the other island Kate and Sawyer wake up. They think Karl has run away, but they find him crying because he misses Alex. Sawyer goes to have a little chat with him and then sets him free. Karl was their only source of Others info, and he just lets him go back home. Way to go, Sawyer!

Alex sneaks up to Jack’s cage to talk to him. She asks him why he saved Ben, and it seems she’s not too happy about it. Then she tells Jack that Julliet will be killed because she shot Pickett. She helps Jack to get out of his cage and takes him to Ben. Jack agrees to stay with Ben to make sure he gets better. In return, Ben will have to save Julliet. So Jack saves her from being executed and they share a cute little scene. It seems Jack has fallen for her.

Sawyer and Kate however are not in such a cute place. They get into a fight and Kate kind of confesses that she regrets having sex with Sawyer. Then we get to see them walking in the jungle and trying to find their camp.

Ben and his Other friends are moving back to Othersville, because the Losties now know their location. Jack goes with them and we see him getting close with Julliet.

Oh yeah, and then there were the flashbacks. Basically, Jack goes to Puhket and meets a beautiful Thai woman, who wants to give him some free fooling around time with no strings attached. Jack is being a whiner, and he wants to know what his new lady friend does for a living. He finds out she’s a tattoo artist and she tells him she has the gift of reading people. She says Jack’s a leader and in a weird, almost rape-like action, he makes her tattoo him. However, back on the island Isabel tells him the tattoo means “He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us”.

So that’s it, a kinda boring Jack story. So what where the three biggest Lost mysteries that were solved? I have no idea. I guess they mean the meaning of the tattoo (who cares), the fact that the Tailies are still alive (already shown in a Lost Moment) and that Kate really loves Jack (…. women.). To me, it was a little dull episode. The flashback seemed to be too forced. It didn’t contribute anything to the main story. Ok, so Jack doesn’t fit in, we don’t need a tattoo to tell us that. I’m looking forward to the next episode, when we hopefully get some Locke and his islander posse- action.

This week we got to look at Desmond‚Äôs life before the Island in a very special way. Desmond seems to be able to see the future, and we get to find out how… or do we? The flashbacks aren‚Äôt normal flashbacks, but some weird flashbacks/ real-time view/ dreams of Desmond. So what happened?

The episode starts off with Charlie and Hurley raiding Sawyer’s secret stash. They will get into trouble for that, or at least get a few new nicknames. Desmond then comes to get Charlie and Hurley (notice that at first, he just wants Charlie to come with him, and then also asks Hurley) to meet Locke and his jungle party. Locke tells them about what just happened, and Desmond suddenly starts to run towards the beach. We then find out that Claire is drowning, and Desmond rescues her. Charlie wants to find out what’s happening to Desmond, and he makes up a plan with Hurley. They get him drunk to get him to tell what happens, but when Charlie calls Desmond a coward the weirdness begins.

We get a short summary of the events that led to the failsafe key being turned, and then see Desmond lying in a pool of what we think is blood. But then we see Penny, the love of Desmond’s life, and we see he’s covered in paint, not blood. Desmond seems quite disorientated, and Penny says that’s because of his fall. He’s very happy to see her, but it seems there’s something that just isn’t right. When Desmond is getting dressed, he is staring at the clock, that’s displaying the well-known number 1:08 (4+8+15+16+23+42=108). Desmond recognises the number, but can’t seem to place it. Desmond is getting ready for a job interview with Penny’s dad to get him to respect Desmond. Penny tells him it’s not the end of the world when Mr. Widmore wouldn’t respect Desmond and again he seems to recognize it. Then a familiar sounds is heard, the beeper in the hatch. It’s only the microwave timer.

At Widmore Corp, Desmond hears about a parcel being delivered to a room 815. Suddenly Desmond remembers the timer in the hatch, but still can‚Äôt place it. Desmond then goes to see Mr. Widmore. Widmore‚Äôs office is filled with Easter eggs. At one of the walls is a painting with polar bears and ‚ÄòNamaste‚Äô on it. Another one of the paintings is by Claire‚Äôs boyfriend Tom. Also Desmond is looking at a scale model of a boat. Could this be the Elizabeth? Mr. Widmore is disappointed by the lack of military training and graduation at university by Desmond. He then tells Desmond about the race around the world, and Desmond starts to remember more about the Island. Desmond then asks Mr. Widmore for Penny‚Äôs hand in marriage. Mr. Widmore then starts to insult Desmond in such an evil way… ouch! Widmore tells Desmond he‚Äôs worth less than a swallow of whiskey. He turns him down cold!

After this rejection Desmond walks out of the building and meets Charlie, who’s a street singer at this moment. Desmond gets really angry, but when he talks to Charlie he remembers everything that happened on the Island. It seems Desmond is reliving his live, or travelled in time or something. He then goes to see a friend of his, a professor at university, to talk about time travel. Desmond remembers that night, and tries to convince his friend everything has happened before. Of course, those things don’t happen and Desmond thinks he’s going crazy.

After this, Desmond wants to make his life right. He goes to a jewellery store and wants to by a ring. But when he wants to buy it, the shopkeeper doesn’t let him. She tells him he can’t buy it because it’s not his destiny. He needs to follow his destiny to get to the island, or they are all dead. Desmond is totally freaked out at this point. They go outside to talk about his destiny. Freaky oracle lady tells Desmond to watch a man with red shoes, who is then crushed by a collapsed scaffolding. When Desmond asks why she didn’t do anything to save him she tells him there was nothing she could do, he would’ve died anyway. The universe has a way of Course Correcting, and there’s nothing you can do to change destiny. Desmond doesn’t believe any of this and goes to have a happy moment with Penny. They go to the river Thames, and Penny wants to get their picture taken. Desmond then sees the picture, and he realises it’s the same picture he had with him in the hatch. Somehow he realises he can’t change his destiny and dumps Penny. She then tells him he’s a coward. Sad Desmond then goes to the pub, and discovers it’s the day he described earlier. He isn’t going crazy! When he tries to save the barman from getting him with a cricket bat, he himself gets hit and wakes up on the Island. By saving the barman, he’s changed something, and now he begs to go back once more to better his life. End flashback.

Charlie wants to know what’s going on and asks Desmond why he’s saving Claire, and how he seems to know what’s going to happen. Desmond tells about his trip to the past, and says his life flashed before his eyes when he turned the failsafe key. When he woke up, the flashes continued, and somehow he still can see the future. He then explains he didn’t safe Claire, but he’s trying to safe Charlie. However, he can’t be there every time. Charlie is going to die, no matter what he’s trying to do.

So what really happened in this episode? Did he really go back to the past, or did he relive the past with flashes before his eyes. Maybe he just travelled trought time Terminator style, and is that why he’s naked. I think Desmond got sucked into a black hole, the black hole the Others use to travel of the Island. By turning the failsafe key Desmond changed the location of the black hole by changing the magnetic field of the Island. After last week’s episode, with all the references to black holes and “only fools are enslaved by time and space”, I think the Others were able to travel through a black hole. But who knows, knowing Lost we probably have different ideas and visions next week.

After a three month hiatus we finally got a new episode. And what a great episode it was! We got some new insight into one of the more mysterious characters, and a hint at what the greater mystery on the island is about.

The episode starts of with Julliet, walking on the beach and in an aged building, looking like the Hydra station. Here she greets an old friend of ours, Ethan Rom, and walks inside a room, meeting her sick sister. Julliet gives her some weird injection, and we then find out that they are not on the island, but in Miami. It’s a flashback!

On the island, we go back to where the last episode left of. Ben is still on the operating table and Jack is telling Kate to run! At this moment Kate and Sawyer kick Pickett’s behind, and run into the jungle. When some men start shooting at them, they are saved by Alex, Rousseau’s daughter. They hide in the jungle and she tells them she has a boat, and she will get them of the island if they save her boyfriend Karl. Meanwhile in the operating room, Jack reveals to Tom that Julliet asked him to kill Ben. Jack and Julliet start to yell at each other, but then Tom shows he’s a man again, and makes Julliet leave the room. Mr. Friendly is back! But then Ben wakes up. He tells Tom to get Julliet. Ben and Julliet want some private time, and Julliet says Ben told her to give Jack what he wants if Jack finishes the surgery. Tom and Jack get some time to talk, but when Tom starts to tell what happened after the purple light Ben gets another internal bleeding.

Meanwhile, the flashback’s all about how Julliet has changed. In the flashback she’s a great fertility doctor, who got famous when she got a male mouse pregnant. She also gets her sister pregnant. However, she doesn’t want to do anything without the approval of her ex-husband. When the mysterious company Mittelos Bioscience wants Julliet to work from them, Julliet tells them she could only do that if her ex-husband gets hit by a bus. So, of course her husband gets hit by a bus. At the morgue the Mittelos people are waiting for Julliet. One of these people is Ethan Rom. Julliet agrees to work at their company in Portland, but their not quite in Portland. By now, we all know she’s being transported to the island.

Back on the island, Kate, Sawyer and Alex are going to free Karl. He’s being held in a cell, with a weird video playing, he’s being brainwashed. They get him out and get to the boat. But at the beach, Pickett finds them. When he wants to shoot Sawyer, Pickett gets shot by Julliet! She tells Kate and Sawyer to go, and Julliet gives them her walky-talky, to talk to Jack. Jack tells Kate to never come back for him, and get to safety. Jack then sows up Ben and finishes the surgery. Julliet meets him there and they talk a little. Julliet finally tells Jack that she’s been on the island for three years, two months and 28 days and that she has been a captive for all that time.

The main theme in this episode is time. There are many references to time throughout the episode. When producer Carlton Cuse was asked about the significance of the two skeletons found by Kate and Jack in the first season he referred to the nature of the timeline of the island. He said that there are some Easter eggs in ‚ÄòNot in Portland‚Äô that should shed some light on the skeletons and that hint at a larger mythological mystery this season. The first Easter egg is an anagram, found somewhere in the episode. I think it‚Äôs ‚ÄòMittelos‚Äô, which could make ‚Äòlost time‚Äô. Another reference to time is found in the freaky video Karl is forced to watch. When watched backwards a voice is heard that repeats the phrase “Only fools are enslaved by time and space”. Also, Aldo the guard is reading a book about black holes, which supposedly could bend space and time! Maybe the island somehow exists in a different time than the rest of the world. That could also explain the 26 year old woman which the much older looking womb, who Julliet examines. Maybe this is where the connection with The Lost Experience is shown, with the Life Extension Program? The weird brainwashing video also shows slides that say that ‚Äòeverything changes‚Äô, and show pictures of things that have changed in the last decennia. Maybe the researchers on the island think all these changes are corrupting the world, and that they must save the world somehow?

The thoughts expressed in this entry are highly spoilerific, they are based on the online Lost Experience. The information that has been coming out (mainly in the Sri-Lanka Video I mentioned a few posts back) I find to be answering some of the deepest questions we have about LOST. To continue reading highlight the hidden text below.

This video contains another orientation video, which seems to have been intended for some of the more important members of the Dharma Initiative, not like the the orientations videos for the guinea pigs.

The Vallenzetti Equation: It predicts the exact number of years and months until humanity extinguishes itself, and it is likely to have something to do with “the numbers”. Hanso explains this in the video and then in one of the subsequent fragments says that “it’s results are chilling” which I believe means that the equation predicts the human race will come to an end much sooner than anyone had expected.

The Dharma Initiative was formed expressly to find a way to save the human race by discovering a way to change one of the factors of the equation. The facilities on the island were built to research possible solutions to this problem and were built in secrecy so the research could go on with out scrutiny or question, or perhaps becasue the research required was inhumane or illegal.

We don’t know exactly what happened to the Dharma Initiative (we can make some assumptions having to do with “incidents” from the show), but we do find out in this video that, according to Mittelwerk, it failed. Currenly the Hanso Foundation is still working hard to find a way to change the equation and find a better outcome, but their methods are highly questionable. It has something to do with a virus that they have designed, a virus that is not yet perfected and is now being tested on unknowing people disguised as a vaccine.

The point is this: I feel confident that this is the answer to the question of “What is the Dharma Intiative?” Watch the video I’ve put together in this post and tell me if you agree.

Well our latest video podcast attempted to predict this amazing finale episode, but we mostly failed. Did we get anything right? Well we did get a few things right: We had Desmond’s boat right, Locke did destroy the computer, and Charlie did end up lying on the ground. However, Jack and Kate did not have a steamy shower scene, Hurley did not fall and get trapped under the blast door, the end of the countdown does not trigger a “dance off” between Jack and Tom (Mr. Friendly’s actual name), a combination of Hurley’s weight and Claire’s diarrhea did not cause the plane crash, Rose does not get attacted by a dirty polar bear, Hanso did not kill Joop, and Sayid did not find the Schmettling Hatch or kill Michael and Walt. In hind sight our version of the finale was definitely funnier but the actual one was much better.

So please leave any comments you may have about this amazing episode, there’s alot to think about and I still have to sort it all out.

There is a lot to talk about regarding the latest episode of LOST, “?”

This episode was Eko-centric. First we will talk about Eko’s flashback. We learned that in Eko’s past, he was responsible for proving or disproving that a girl’s near death experience was or was not a miracle. The girl “drowned” but it was discovered she was alive during her autopsy. When Eko goes to talk directly to the girl, she is sent away by her father… Her father is none other then the psychic whom Claire visited. He claims that his wife made up the story of the miracle to get back at him for doing what he does, pretending to be psychic. The psychic admits he has no “gift” and simply researches his customers before they visit. So when Claire visited, was this really all lies, or was this an actual pshychic moment he had?
The daughter later tells Eko that she was “between places,” implying it really was a miracle she lived, and then she saw Eko’s brother Yemi.

Ana-Lucia was dead at the beginning of the episode, but Libby was not. Libby could not be saved but Jack wanted to make her comfortable using the heroin. Sawyer’s heroin stash was kept in the same place as the guns, so when he got it for Libby, it revealed the hiding place of the guns. Throughout the episode, Michael was concerned that Libby would say he did it before he died, but she was unable to place the blame on him before she died.

Most importantly in this episode, Eko and Locke find another hatch. Dreams which both have contain messages from Ana-Lucia and Yemi lead the two to the question mark in the middle of the blast map. The question mark is located where the drug plane from season 1 fell and beneath the plane is “The Pearl.”

The Pearl is another hatch which has tv monitors and computers which monitor the activities of The Swan. Eko and Locke find yet another orientation film which explains that the people in The Swan are nothing more then an experiment. Those in The Pearl must document everyone of the acitivities of those in The Swan. It appears someone could be watching our Losties in the hatch, if this hatch is capable of seeing them. Also interesting is that the man who was named Marvin Candle in the other orientation video is also in this one, but his name is Mark Wicman. Haha, a wick is on a candle. That’s kinda funny, I guess. No, not really, your right.

What did we learn and see in last night’s episode?

Ana-Lucia’s mother knew that she was a killer.
Ana-Lucia worked as a bodyguard for Jack’s father in Australia, after he convinced her to fly to Sydney with him.
Henry Gale strangled Ana-Lucia, saying “you killed two of us.” Apparently Goodwin thought she was good, but she, according to Gale, is not. Ana-Lucia later goes to kill Gale (after a sexy gun-stealin-scene involving Lucia and Sawyer) but is unable to bring herself to do it.
Apparently, Hurley is a pimp. A real cassonova, but we already knew that.
Locke asked why Gale did not attack him, but did attack Ana-Lucia… his answer? His mission was not to harm Locke, but to bring him back. Locke is one of the “good ones.” Thats an interesting one to throw out there. What makes Locke a “good one?”

Most importantly, Michael went postal. He tells Ana-Lucia that if she can’t kill Gale, he will. Remember, he wants revenge since the others took his kid, so she has every reason to believe him and she hands over the gun. Michael then apologizes to Ana-Lucia, shoots (and presumably kills her) and then Libby. He let’s Gale out and shoots his own arm to make it look like Gale did it (he pulley a Sayid, shooting himself, Gale being parallel to Nadia).

So Michael is a bad seed. Is he an other? Sure looks that way. He is either doing whatever it takes to get his kid back, or is an other and has been brainwashed to be one.

On a final note, what was Hurley doing taking relationship advice from Sayid? His last girlfriend got killed after he took her to the beach for a picnic. Both Libby and Shannon were shot because they startled someone yielding a gun. If only Hurley hadn’t forgotten the blankets, Libby would be spared (and we could see her back story). So I guess the lesson is, don’t start an island love affair… Libby started something up with Hurley, she’s dead. Shannon does the funky monkey dance with Sayid, and she croaks. Ana-Lucia does a little hump-a-thon with Sawyer, and she bites the bullet. Boone starts heading out with Locke for some jungle-loving and he’s turning up daisies. Blossoming relationships = bad news.

Stephen and I will be doing a video poscast this weekend so send your questions to mail@lost4815162342.com. We will be discussing the episode, the internet experience, and the book Bad Twin, which both of us will have completeted by this weekend.

We’re about to weather another two week hiatus from LOST, but Stephen and I are going to try to bring you some entertaining and innovative podcasts during this time to keep you thinking. Our S.O.S. recap podcast should be out around Monday and will contain some answers to listener questions.

Now on to S.O.S.

There actually isn’t all that much to talk about as fas as S.O.S. goes. I found the episode a bit boring and it had none of the island mythology that captures are attention. The end brought a little redemption as it was pretty exciting.

This episode was about Rose & Bernard. Bernard wanted to make an S.O.S. symbol on the beach, Rose thought it was a bad idea. Thats basically it. We find out Rose was ill and the island healed her, but she lies to Bernard about being healed before the plane crash by an Australian healer…

I want to know what the numbers on the Dharma food items mean as we are shown them repeatedly, including in this episode.

We now know Rose was ill before she was on the island. She was in remmission from cancer. This island healed her, like it did Locke. Also, Rose knew Locke’s secret (that he was in a wheelchair). We learned this in a flashback crossover where Locke hands rose her medication when she drops it in the airport. This is pretty signifigant, I think.

It appears the island has healing powers of some sort. The healer Rose visited in Australia said that the spot he was located at was special because of magnetic forces. Perhaps it is the magnetic forces on the island which heal people, and perhaps this healing power is part of the reason Dharma chose this island for their studies.

Michael finally returned (although he wasn’t gone as long as it seemed, but when we have as many repeats as we’ve had, it seems like forever). Michael did not look his healthiest when he returned, and we all look forward to the next episode of LOST.

The next few weeks will be rough. Hold yourself over by watching the preview for “Two for the Road”

By the way… It is a church that Eko and Charlie are building. We’ll see what kind of role this plays down the road.

The first time was in “Fire + Water.” We saw ‘Widmore Construction’ on the background of a building in Charlie’s flashback. We only knew that the building said this because of the official podcast. We then saw in “The Whole Truth” that Sun’s pregnancy test was made by ‘Widmore Labs.’ Most recently, promotional photos from “Lockdown,” (released after the episodes premiere) exposed to us that Gale’s balloon has the ‘Widmore Labs’ logo on it. The balloon and pregnancy test are photographed below. The producers want us to notice these Widmore refferences, but what does it mean?
