The Lost Experience: Part 2?

In the last few days a new Lost related website has emerged. At this site a man named Sam Thomas is searching for clues on the location of Oceanic flight 815.

When you check out the site, Sam gets a mysterious email about his lost girlfriend, who was a flight attendent on flight 815. A few mouse clicks later you’ll find a clue which says ‘Sunda Trench’. The Sunda Trench is a trench near Sumatra in the Indian Ocean. This trench is known for the 2004 tsunami. So go back a few months, to season 3. Rumour was that the tsunami would impact the Lost storyline. So maybe the Not-Penny’s-Boat-people aren’t the only danger in season 4? Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing how this game unfolds!

The Sri-Lanka video is now complete. And I said it in a few previous posts but if you haven’t seen this video yet you have to watch it. This video is extremely important to the plot of LOST. Extremely!!! If you want to know the answers to the questions “What is the Dharma Initiative?” and “What do the numbers mean?” watch the video!

Few people thought that information of this importance would be revealed as part of the lost experience, but now that it is out you don’t want to get left behind. Just watch the video.

Sri-Lanka Video Thoughts

The thoughts expressed in this entry are highly spoilerific, they are based on the online Lost Experience. The information that has been coming out (mainly in the Sri-Lanka Video I mentioned a few posts back) I find to be answering some of the deepest questions we have about LOST. To continue reading highlight the hidden text below.

This video contains another orientation video, which seems to have been intended for some of the more important members of the Dharma Initiative, not like the the orientations videos for the guinea pigs.

The Vallenzetti Equation: It predicts the exact number of years and months until humanity extinguishes itself, and it is likely to have something to do with “the numbers”. Hanso explains this in the video and then in one of the subsequent fragments says that “it’s results are chilling” which I believe means that the equation predicts the human race will come to an end much sooner than anyone had expected.

The Dharma Initiative was formed expressly to find a way to save the human race by discovering a way to change one of the factors of the equation. The facilities on the island were built to research possible solutions to this problem and were built in secrecy so the research could go on with out scrutiny or question, or perhaps becasue the research required was inhumane or illegal.

We don’t know exactly what happened to the Dharma Initiative (we can make some assumptions having to do with “incidents” from the show), but we do find out in this video that, according to Mittelwerk, it failed. Currenly the Hanso Foundation is still working hard to find a way to change the equation and find a better outcome, but their methods are highly questionable. It has something to do with a virus that they have designed, a virus that is not yet perfected and is now being tested on unknowing people disguised as a vaccine.

The point is this: I feel confident that this is the answer to the question of “What is the Dharma Intiative?” Watch the video I’ve put together in this post and tell me if you agree.

The Sri-Lanka Video

If you’ve been following “The Lost Experience” at all this summer you probably know that there is this girl named Rachel Blake. She’s the one who hacked the Hanso Site with the alias Persephone. And subsequently has been placing videos across the web of her adventures in the search for truth about the Hanso Foundation, and it looks like we’re about to get to a climax with those Apollo Bars but one other very big thing that’s going on right now is the infamous Sri-Lanka Video

A whole website has been set up just for this video, it has been split up into 70 pieces, Rachel is hiding codes all over the place, each code unlocks a piece of the video and you get to try to sort them out and put them together. This isn’t just some silly spy video with bad disguises, like some of Rachel’s earlier videos, there is a lot of information in here, an orientation video, and yes Alvar Hanso himself is in it.

So I’m not going to just tell you about this and try to let you find all the pieces and put them together, I’m going to give you the link to my sequence so you can watch that. I’ll update it as soon as new segments are found.

Apollo Bar

I’m thinking of going to get an apollo bar! They’re giving them away in various locations in the US and UK and NYC (one of the places distribution is taking place) is just a train ride away for me, maybe I’ll get the golden ticket!

What’s going to happen, is some message in the bars or something? Anyway, Apollo is a cool name, because it is also the name of my favorite roller coaster (Apollo’s Chariot, at Busch Gardens Europe) but I digress.

The site has finally been updated and it looks like its ready for the internet experience the producers have taunted us with in their podcast.

Watch the television ad (it really was on TV during LOST) on the site.

LOST is even greater now… go to the newsletter part of the Hanso site. You can’t sign up until you get the password from that phone number, but can anyone get through?

Gary Troups ‘Bad Twin’

Not only was Bad Twin released today, it was also featured in tonights episode.

Bad Twin is the manuscript we have seen Hurley and Sawyer reading. They found it amongst the planes wreckage. The author’s name, Gary Troup, is an annagram for ‘purgatory.’ Weird, huh?

Sawyer didn’t get to finish the book but you sure can! The first chapter is free on iTunes!
