There is no doubt that many Lost fans tuned into the series premiere of Fringe tonight. The series was conceived and penned in part by the co-creator of Lost, J.J. Abrams, a man who continues to gather quite a fan base. JJ’s projects have been known for there intermingling of drama and sci-fi and Fringe certainly fits that mold. Shows such as Alias and Lost were designed primarily around storytelling and drama, with bits and pieces of science fiction elements sprinkled on top, with Fringe the science fiction, or science reality as it is presented in the context of the show, takes a much more important role.

Fringe gets its name from the term “fringe science” which is briefly defined in the show through a list of it’s areas of study, including reanimation, teleportation, and a whole bunch I can’t recall at the moment (I have to watch it again). The show seems to borrow elements from JJ’s repertoire as well as other popular television shows. A heavy emphasis on secret government agencies and projects (Alias), mysterious organizations carrying out extraordinary projects and research (Lost), exploration of fringe sciences dealing with human genetics (Heroes).

The Pilot episode, interestingly enough, begins on an airplane where the situation quickly deteriorates as an airborne compound causes the flesh of every passenger to dissolve. The main character Olivia Dunham, played by Anna Torv, a liaison monitoring several government agencies involved in the investigation of the plane mystery (by the way the plane landed it self, using a Massive Dynamic developed system) quickly discovers what she is investigating is far out of the ordinary. Her investigation leads her to a former scientist, Dr. Walter Bishop played by John Noble, who was admitted to an insane asylum for his dealings with fringe science at Harvard. Due to Dr. Bishop’s current state she must enlist the help of his estranged son, Peter Bishop played by Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s Creek). Olivia reports to Phillip Broyles, played by Lance Reddick (The Wire, Lost), who is more familiar with these strange occurrences that we originally assume.

Another big force at play in the show is a corporation called Massive Dynamic. Their slogan: “What do we do? What don’t we do?” What ever they are doing, it has allowed the company to grow into a multi-billion dollar corporation. They deal with medical, communications, energy, transportation, and entertainment technology. But, it becomes quickly apparent that Massive Dynamic has many secret projects as well. In the end it has elements of SD6 and the Hanso Foundation, and a founder/chairman/CEO named Dr. William Bell, who it turns out shared a laboratory with Dr. Bishop. See it’s all starting to come together now. Naturally this corporation has its own website, massivedynamic.com, a familiar ploy to us Lost fans, and Dr. William Bell is just as anonymous as Alvar Hanso was (until Rachel Blake outed him).

Overall, Fringe stands up to the hype, delivering a show that stays true to the JJ Abrams style, and has the potential to appeal to a large number of viewers. Its strong emphasis on science fiction could limit its effectiveness with certain viewers, while also appealing to others. I feel, however that this show has the potential to please any fan of JJ Abrams work. It airs Tuesdays at 9 on FOX.

Become a fan of LOST on facebook!

I was exploring facebook.com today, looking to become a “fan” of all my favorite things. For those of you unfamiliar with this concept, facebook introduced this features many months ago, it gives individuals and businesses the ability to create “facebook pages”. These pages are usually about one specific thing, a celebrity, a film, a product, a tv show, any many more. The point of these pages is to give the users of facebook a specific place to come together and share with each other their love of each specific topic, and more importantly to show it off by becoming a fan.

So naturally I began my search on the main index of facebook pages and clicked on “TV Shows”. I scrolled though a long list of familiar shows searching for that one show I like the best (Lost). To my surprise it was no where to be found amongst the most popular tv show pages. In fact I was forced to do a search, and even that did not help, the first facebook page I found that was remotely related to the tv show was named “Lost & Philosophy” and only had around 1,700 fans, where most of the mainstream tv show pages had hundreds of thousands. I continued to search for more relevant pages but I could not find any that were much more than an empty page, with the name Lost and a few fans.

To make a long story short, I decided it was time to create a definitive Lost page on facebook, so I did. I wanted to make it simple enough that it’s purpose was crystal clear, but I also wanted to provide some additional features to make it worth visiting. The page features the Lost Episode Countdown Timer, Links to popular Lost podcasts and websites, and links to places you can actually watch Lost! (Did you know abc.com is streaming every single episode of the series online for free?)

Lets show our support for our favorite show on facebook. Become a fan and put those other tv shows in their place.

We obviously are horrible bloggers. But that certainly was an awesome finale. Discuss it here if you wish.

Sure, we could talk about how Sayid blew Michael’s cover, or how Ben led Alex into a trap to attempt to kill the people she loves most (because like Juliet, Alex belongs to him). But far more interesting than those things is Tom’s (aka Mr. Friendly’s) Latin lover Arturo.

Early last season, Tom told Kate “You’re not my type.” leading us to believe that perhaps he wasn’t into fugitives, or that she was too young for him, too attractive, but I think most people suspected from that statement that Tom’s “type” was other men. And in last night’s episode we were given the proof that Tom was in fact gay. Another Lost mystery solved.

When I see the date of death on the tombstone (September 22, 2004, the date of the crash of Oceanic 815) I immediately make the connection that Jin’s alleged death was just part of the story the Oceanic Six is telling the rest of the world. I envision that Jin is still on the island and for some reason was unable to join Sun on the journey back to civilization.

However on the other side of the argument many have already thought and accepted that Jin is actually dead. It is very hard to tell from the dialogue between Sun and Hurley whether the grave represents Jin’s physical death or if it represents a symbolic way to remember that he is still alive, though he is trapped on the island.

What all of this really comes down to is the realization that Lost has given us yet another mystery. What do you think?

My money is on Michael, is that too predictable?

The Associated Press is reporting that there has been a breakthrough in talks between the Writer’s Guild of America and Hollywood studios that could bring a tentative agreement by the end of next week. The writer’s strike, which has been going on for 3 months, has put the fourth season of Lost in an uncertain position, with only 8 of the planned 16 episodes completed. If an agreement is reached as soon as this article speculates there is hope that season four can realize its planned story arc.

In the last few days a new Lost related website has emerged. At this site a man named Sam Thomas is searching for clues on the location of Oceanic flight 815.

When you check out the site, Sam gets a mysterious email about his lost girlfriend, who was a flight attendent on flight 815. A few mouse clicks later you’ll find a clue which says ‘Sunda Trench’. The Sunda Trench is a trench near Sumatra in the Indian Ocean. This trench is known for the 2004 tsunami. So go back a few months, to season 3. Rumour was that the tsunami would impact the Lost storyline. So maybe the Not-Penny’s-Boat-people aren’t the only danger in season 4? Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing how this game unfolds!

With the onslaught of Season #4 trailers and promos, I feel as though it time to dissect what we have seen and, of course, theorize about its meaning. Our site seams to have been enjoying the Hiatus to the fullest, so I would also like to touch base on some of the other additions to the Lost Universe that have appeared during the interim. Thanks to my corporate training, I find it necessary to use an outline format to express any ideas, and for that I am sorry…

So, here goes:

*Station #6: The Orchid
As a small treat this mid-summer, we received another orientational video from the good people at The Dharma Initiative… The
Orchid. Francois Chau was back, this time claiming to be Dr. Edgar Haliwax (Candle, Wickman, Haliwax… am I missing any wax
realted pseudonyms?). The video contained some interesting tidbits and some confusing images as well. These are the things
that gave me pause:
- Why did the video include cut away shots like the one of Dr. Haliwax commenting on his dislike for makeup. Did the fact
that he denoted himself as a scientist make this important? If so, then who is it that is leaving these videos? This one
contained too much “raw footage” for it to be Dharma approved. Plus, if I understand correctly, the majority of it seems to
be botched - with a more finished version of this video only begining before we cut away.
- There is an upside down shot of a man riding a bicycle along with other spliced in shots (such as Gerald
DeGroot, some building and the Room #23 Jacob mantra) within this video. Does anyone have anything to say about that? I
don’t think I saw it wrong and I am eager to here other interpretations.
- Ah yes, the white rabbit! The “Alice” references are getting to be too much for to ignore these days. So, Mr. 15 here
seems to be in two places at one time - not so uncommon in this universe. However, the thing that I found interesting was
the fact that Dr. Haliwax makes an urgent demand to keep them away from each other. In awful Sci-Fi fodder movies like
“Timecop,” a major plot point is made out of the “fact” that when time travelling, the same matter cannot occupy the same
space at the same time. Is that the major concern here? Aside from both of their exsistances, I cannot understand why
anyone would be so frightened of these two fluffy bunnies (at least in Monty Python, the rabbit had sharp teeth and a
penchant for human flesh). It should also be noted that the people present suggest that this has happened before. And the
coup de gras: right after Dr. Haliwax begins to tell us how to prepare ourselves against the potential dangers of this Station ,
just above the trashcan traveling down from the eventual location of the second #15, there is a white “blip.” IT DOES NOT
SEEM TO BE A “BURNMARK” OR SOME OTHER KIND OF ERROR IN THE FILM! Anyone have any ideas… or I am trying too hard
again?
*The Missing Pieces
For those who have not already been to www.abc.com, there are several “deleted scenes” that have been posted.
Unfortunately, they are not assigned to specific seasons but some of them contain shots that could only have been filmed at
certain times; taking into consideration hair growth and such. By and large, they don’t reveal too much and some just seem
downright unnecessary (thank goodness Daniel Roebuck was still in Hawaii and who cares about Neil Frogurt!?!) but there are
some interesting exceptions:
- “The Watch” Oh, Dr. Shepherd! If it all ends up being about you or you’re Jacob, I might be a wee miffed. As far as I can
tell, this is is here to show us Jack’s track reccord for making the right call; which the flashforward suggests has come to an
end. Yet, I wonder about the watch… where is that watch? I cannot help but care…
- “King of the Castle” Again, Chess is a major theme in Alice’s Adventures Through the Looking Glass. I also
was “hit over the head” with Ben’s prophetic line about how Jack may one decide that he wants to come back to this Island.
There is an answer to many questions about the Island within Ben’s steadfast belief in the Island’s allure. He is a very good
actor and I believe that everything he does is an actor’s choice based on his unique knowledge of the character. Look in
those eyes… he somehow KNOWS Jack will miss this place.
- “Room 23″ Yep, this was the biggie for me. If you have seen “The Core,” or if you paid attention in Science class, then you
know that one of the ways that birds get their uncanny sense of navigation is from a relationship between their brains and
the electromagnetics of the Earth. Among his many other abilities, Walt seems to be able to affect this. Or maybe he can
control animals (I know it’s a stretch but watch him commune with Vincent in “Special.”). I wonder if the birds hit the window
beacuse he asked them to or beacuse he misdirected their flight pattern. This is the second time Walt has used a bird in
flight to get something he wanted.
*The Promos
There are many, but for the most part, they show about the same thing. We have (2) new visitors to the Island; most likely
from the freighter. As the title of this piece pointed out, most of the interests I have come from the quick flashes we see:
- The Skull: Friends from other sites pointed this out and suggest that this is a Polar Bear skull,
which fits with the research and the other (2) we have seen so far. The interesting thing is that this Skull sits on a desk, or
in a case (Trophy case?) somewhere. We have seen creature comforts in Othersville but it has been abandodned and I
cannot see a reason why anyone would go back there. So, whose desk holds the Skull? Is it on the freighter, is it in an
office (did anyone see this when we saw Widmore’s office in “Flashes…” or in Mr. Paik’s office) or another as of yet unseen
location.
- “6:” Right after the new Islander says to Jack, “Do you wanna know why we’re here…” and right before we see the Dharma
logo medallion, a number (6) flashes on the screen. Anyone? I got nothin’ but I am intrigued.
- The Cow: There is a clear picture of a cow for one of the flashes and many have gone nuts trying to figure this one out.
Please help me before I join them… it looks remarkably similar to the shot of Walt that John Locke sees from the Dharma Body
Pit. If anyone out there is truly skilled at freeze framing and the subtle differences between cattle, perhaps you can tell me if
that is Mikhail’s cow. If so, does that mean Patchy, aka Lil’ Johnny Live-a-lot is truly dead? Many have said they saw Naomi
in this promo, so perhaps no one dies anymore (can I get a You All Everybody?).

Well, that officially opens the floor and I have danced on it way too long. I TRULY hope this gets some responses, even if they are simply to tell me how long-winded I am. With a glad heart, I look to the 31st!

A lot has been happening in the Lost world in the past several weeks, and for the most part I’ve been trying not to think about those things, because the main issue surrounding the Lost hype, and television in general is the on going writer’s strike. Why are they on strike you may ask. In the youtube video below our close friend, one of the writers and producers of Lost, Damon Lindeloff, explains the issues at hand.

While I completely agree that the writers should be compensated for new media presentations of their work, I find a great fog of uncertainty around me concerning the future of our favorite shows. Last I heard, 8 episodes of Lost for the upcoming season have been written and ABC plans to air those as scheduled. With then new season structure that is essentially half a season of Lost. (For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, the new contract for Lost specified that there would be 3 more seaons of 16 episodes each.)

So with this shortened season who knows what the future of the show will look like or when it will arrive. Some other shows have already canceled their season due to the strike (that show being 24) and nearly all others will soon run out of new material forcing us to watch reality television (of which I reccommend Kid Naiton and Kitchen Nightmares). I wish there was something we could do, but the networks don’t seem to want to find a solution. I guess we will just have to wait and see, something Lost fans know all to well.

In other more positive news the long talked about Lost mobisodes have finally arrived. Verizon wireless customers get to see them first on vCast while the rest of the world can check out a new 2 minute episode every Monday. They are called Lost: Missing Pieces and they can be found here:

And finally, there’s something else we can look forward to and it’s coming on January 18th 2008. It’s the new and mysterious J.J. Abrams film, and it has an official name: Cloverfield. A new trailer was posted on apple.com today, it doesn’t give us much information but that’s another thing Lost fans have gotten used to. Hey all, I’ll have to make this quick because I have to run, but last night while trying to find information on the LOST video game (release date of January next year), I found an interesting website offering a strange theory on the mythology behind out favourite show. The author of www.lostisagame.com is personally convinced that the storyline of the show is set inside a computer game, where “light” and “dark” players manipulate characters through six “levels” with varying time limits, using game prompts and game boundaries. It is an interesting theory, and without explaining the evidence, I will leave you to do the research on the website. However, personally, I don’t believe that it is plausible because JJ Abrams would not build the whole show on such a crappy idea, but I’ll leave you to make up your own minds. Just thought it was an interesting perspective.

Hi guys I’m a new blogger on this site…. I hope I can help my fellow lostaways get some answers for their favourite show! (now keep in mind… I am Australian, so before you make wise cracks about my spelling- we actually do spell them that way down under).

Ok… there has been quite alack of news going round this site over the (Australian) Winter, so just in case you are looking to get up to speed, I’ll hit you guys up with some news, new theories, ideas etc.

First of all, there was a bunch of news in July given at the 2007 Comic Con meeting, in regard to where the show is going in 2008 (season 4). This culminated in the long-anticipated ”Lost” panel with J.J. Abrams and Carlton Cuse. I’m going to be possibly giving some information away, so if you want to be totally surprised next year (i will be either way, I know!), stop reading now. My sources for this info are the lostpedia blog (http://blog.lostpedia.com/) and Comic Con news from TheTailSection (http://www.thetailsection.com/lost-at-comiccon/the-tailsection-live-comiccon.php), who had correspondents actually live at the even- needless to say this info is definitely reliable. Note that some info will be quoted.

Ok… so this is what we have learned about season 4:

• Michael will return in Season 4 as a regular cast member once again, though how and when during the Season he will appear is unknown.
• There will be many more flash forwards in coming episodes as well as flashbacks. Flashforwards will be difficult to plot on a timeline, with some occurring a year later, five years later, perhaps even ten years later
  (NOTE: this way confirmed even further by an interview with , the actor playing charlie which was run in Australia exclusively after the s3 finale, when he agreed the ‘flashforward’ would be a technique now used as often, if not more that the flash back: check the interview out at www.yahoo7.com.au/lost )
• Jack and Claire will discover their relation (wow… like mind blowing!).
• Ben was caught by Rousseau’s trap in Season 2 accidentally, and we will learn how and why during Season 4.
• Getting off the Island is not the end of the story for the Losties.
• No Lost Experience will happen this hiatus but its “looking good” that they’ll be another one during the S4-S5 gap.
• Richard Alpert may not appear next season or at least in a much more limited capacity (presumably due to other commitments?)
  No title for the Season 4 premiere just yet.

• Libby’s absence in S3 was not intentional, she’ll be appearing in S4.

• It was stated that Cerberus (on blast door map) is one name for the Monster, but then again the Monster goes by many names. They also said that information about the Monster will be given, such as its origins, but the answers might not be answers we expect or construe as concrete explanations.
• A Rousseau flashback will occur either in S4 or if not definitely S5. The reason for the delays is that her flashback will coincide with a major plot line about the mysteries of the Island, and the writers were unsure whether that plot line would be addressed this coming Season.
• It was hinted that Lost Season 4 may be shown on Fridays in the US. Carlton Cuse commented that it would be nice to go home after work on a Friday and watch Lost.
• As a final surprise, the guys showed what many of us believe to be the first of the long-awaited mobisodes… A new Orientation film! Hosted by Dr Edgar Hallowax, another name for ol’ Marvin Candle, he introduces the video as the Orientation for Station 6 - THE ORCHID. Yes, you read that right. He goes on to say that, “By now, you would know that the station is not a botanical research station as you had believed…” He picks up a white rabbit, and the cameraman tells him to hold it facing the other way - so that the 15 on it’s side will show. The sounds of the hatch timer going haywire begins, as does what appears to be an earthquake… Candle, his assistant and the cameraman recoil in shock at the presence of another white bunny, high on a shelf, with the identical number and markings! Smash to black. I’m pretty sure this is pre-incident, as he had full use of both his arms… During the video, GOD LOVES YOU AS HE LOVED JACOB flashes twice, as well as the upside down image of a gorilla riding a bicycle…
• Finally, it has been hinted by Lindleoff that Libby may have been working for DHARMA!

WOW! Ok, now with that out of the way, lets tackle some other business. I am now going to point out some clues that you may or may not have noticed throughout Season three, starting from the beginning. Here we go… (numbers are ep numbers):

“A tale of two cities”

The Others have modern clothes and living arrangements.
Tom calls Ben “he” and “him” twice to Kate. I think this is a clue that Ben is the him, in other words, the man in charge.
Yet another hatch is found, The Hydra, yet, like the others it is not being used for it’s original purpose.
The Hydra was used for sharks and dolphins (according to Juliet) and the cages Kate and Sawyer were in were used for bears (according to Tom)
“The Glass Ballerina”
The glass ballerina that Sun broke represented her vulnerability and showed us that she has been a liar for a very long time.
Colleen acted very jealous when she found Ben and Juliet talking in the Hydra
Alex said that Kate wasn’t even supposed to be in that cage. Where was Kate supposed to be? In the Hydra with Jack? Is this because she said Sawyer’s name first during her breakfast with Ben

“Further Instructions”
The woman Eddie and Locke spoke of at the commune was called Lizzy. Could this be Libby, whom introduced herself as Elizabeth to Desmond
In Locke’s vision, Boone says, “I think Sayid’s got it,” while Sayid talks to Jin and Sun. This could mean that Sayid will get them safely back to the main beach, or it could mean that he will save their marriage.
What was a Tonka Truck doing in that bear cave? Did some of the Others used to live there before the bears? Or perhaps it was someone that was stranded on the island and living in the cave

“Every man for himself”:
The bears were held in cages on the second island, but yet showed up on the first island. They had to get there somehow and it’s not likely that they swam. The two islands must somehow be connected, perhaps there is a passageway under the ocean.
With all the equipment that the Others have, how come they don’t have a new defibrillator?

“The Cost of Living”
When Eko sees the thugs in the jungle, one of them is missing an arm. Later, we see in his flashbacks that he cuts the arm off of one of them. Missing limb’s is a recurring theme (Dr. Marvin Candle had a prosthetic, Kate’s farmer had a prosthetic, the australian women in Hurley’s flashback). Missing a limb may have something to do with the island’s mysteries.

“I Do”:
The fugitive recovery paperwork that Kevin works on probably has something to do with Sawyer, since he was in that area

“Not In Portland”:
On Juliet’s sister’s nightstand if a fung shui (Dharma symbol) map.
Dr. Alpert wants Juliet to work for Mittelos BioScience. Mittelos is an anagram for Lost Time. Another reference to time was when Aldo was reading the book “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking
Juliet has been on the island since four days before the 9/11 attacks, based on how long she told Jack she’d been on the island and the fact that in episode 2, ( The Glass Ballerina), Ben gave Jack that day’s date, November 29, 2004.

“Flashes before your eyes”:
When Desmond first wakes up in his flat, with red paint all around him, there are two stones on the table by his feet. These may be the same black and white stones that Jack found in a pouch with the two skeletons “Adam and Eve” in the caves
In Charles Widmore’s office, Desmond looks at a painting of a polar bear. Across the top of the painting is the word, Namaste, backwards (associated with the Hanso Foundation). There is also an upside down Buddha statue in front of the polar bear.
Another picture in Charles Widmore’s office is the same picture that Thomas, Claire’s boyfriend, painted
Desmond has been on the island for three years, about the same amount of time as Juliet.
Why were the clocks in the pawn shop all set to different times?
Desmond and Penny got their picture taken, Desmond had the picture, and Penny stormed off. We also saw Desmond with it on the island. So how did it get on Penny’s nightstand (as shown in the s3 finale)?

“Stranger in a strange land”:
Karl has never heard of The Brady Bunch, so it looks like he has been on the island most, if not his whole, life
The Chinese writing on Jack’s tattoo says: He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us. Jack says that’s what they say, but that’s not what they mean.
When Sawyer asks Kate what she thinks Ben would do if they went back to the smaller island, Karl says, “Kill you. God loves you as he loved Jacob.”

“Tricia Takana is Dead”
Hurley’s father’s name is David, Hurley’s imaginary friend’s name is Dave.
A rosary hangs on the mirror of the bus.
The song that plays in the bus when they get it started is the same song that young Hurley was listening to when his father first left. The song is “Shambala”, released in 1973 by Three Dog Night

Well, thanks to the patience of my fellow bloggers (Steve), I am embarking upon my first post. Looking down the barrel of a 250 day shotgun, I find myself desperate to find a way to fill this time; while staying within the Lost Universe… it’s not like I want to tackle any major life issues or improve myself in any way. Ah, but that’s where this fine show has proved itself to be a cut above, my friends. Due to this show’s mythological tie-ins and multimedia treasure hunts, I have found myself actually researching topics for this show; heck, I’ve even joined a blogging site to discuss my wild theories and feed on everyone elses’ thoughts like some kind of voracious Technological Dinosaur, savoring his first bytes (you see why no one has let me do this before). Yes, Lost has made me a more complete TV viewer and a better person! It has awakened a thirst for knowledge and a desire to communicate with my contemporaries. Why, when I go to the watercooler now, I blow all of that Idol talk out of the water by discussing the parallels between the Island and Pandora’s Box (which I could now do a very respectable high school level report on). Now, granted, I realize myself to be a wee eccentric, but I wonder if I can’t convince anyone else out there to join this revoultion. Let me break it down for you….

For 2 years now(yes, I joined in after the release of the first season and I know I’ll never be a pure-blood), I have spent my dayjob hours cruising fan sites in search of screen capture wizards and learned bloggers. I caught the first sub-lymonal ads and called the Hanso Foundation. Somewhere along the way, I stumbled upon a theory about the Trials of Hercules and their relation to the Dharma Stations. I knew nothing of the Trials of Hercules (I had seen the Disney film, but I didn’t think that counted) and was anxious to see just how much of it matched up. Turns out there were some interesting correlations; I could mention them but it would defeat the purpose of this post (for credit’s sake, thanks GreyBishop). What dumbfounded me was the fact that I had just spent several hours voluntarily learning in the hopes of not debunking his point, but helping to prove it. As time went on, and more questions came sans answers, I found that the thing that kept me a loyal viewer was this desire to “use” the show to learn. Everytime we didn’t get an answer, I logged on and read as one or more fans advanced their own multi-layered theories; often steeped in another civilization’s mythology or a work of classical literature. Before I knew it, I had learned more about Greek Mythology than I ever did in college, I read a few books not written by Gary Troup and I began Googling Monoclonal research. I eagerly applied what I learned to support or advance, I even began sending myself out on my own information hunts (ever read Carrol’s …Through the Looking Glass?) in the hopes of finding my own parallels. After all of that schooling, I have only now discovered a desire to learn for learning’s sake and I credit Lost and its fans for that gift. Yes, this is the revolution I speak of; taking a love of television beyond the couch and into the libraries, adding it to your morning coffee and making use of that degree in whatever. In short, bringing the brain back to TV. I hope some of you out there agree with me. It’s fine to get all caught up in Sanjaya’s hair or get truly anxious to see if that girl with the prosthetic arm is going to be dancing next week… but I am looking for more. When was the last time a TV show made you anxious to talk and learn? I am off to learn more about Pandora’s Box and to search for references to clairaudience ( I had never even heard of that term before Walt). What have you learned in relation to or because of Lost? How are we ever going to make it through this eternity of a hiatus? It’s not like last year where we had the lost experience to keep us busy. Looks like we’re just going to have to wait this one out. But, here at Lost4815162342.com we’ve decided to liven up your summer and fill that Lost void with some new and exciting contests!

The first contest is for a Lost action figure, a character very close to our hearts: Charlie. After seeing his unfortunate demise we think it’s only appropriate that we honor him by making him the center of this first contest. The contest will work in a similar way to some of our past contests, where you create a fan film (one about Charlie in this case) and the best submission wins the prize!

Rules, eligibility, deadline, and instructions on how to submit your entry are pending, we will be sure to let you know all of the details about this contest as soon as we can. This contest is only open to residents of the contiguous United States.

So start making those movies now while you still have time. Good luck and Good Vibrations you all everybody.

Apple recently released a new game for fifth generation iPods that is completely about our favorite show Lost! The game’s description reads: “Join your favorite castaways in their quest to seek the truth and survive in the official iPod game of the hit television series Lost. Help Jack search for dynamite, tend to the wounded, and avoid the black smoke. Relive the crash scene, open the hatch, and ultimately try to your best to escape from the Others. Immerse yourself into their mysterious world with authentic settings and genuine storyline created by the writers behind the hit show.”

Seems like a really cool game to have. As you can see from the snapshots it follows many of the events of the show in fairly accurate fashion. If you have an iPod you’ll definitely want to spend the $5 dollars to get this game! If only I had one.

With this episode several things are coming together for the conclusion of the season. Which side will prevail in the fight, the others or the survivors? Will rescue finally arrive? Will John Locke return to kick Ben’s ass? Will Jacob take human form? Will Ezra James Sharkington make an appearance? Will the Hurley Bird squawk at Hurley again? And what is going to happen in that Looking Glass station? How are they going to make this last 3 more seasons?

One last question: Why couldn’t they just cut the wire?

I have heard few things about this episode, because I refuse to give into the temptation of spoilers, but I have heard that there have been many spoilers circulating around Lost websites about the last few episodes of this season and I’m glad I haven’t seen any so I can enjoy the end of the season as it was intended to be enjoyed.

In other news, we have another Lost puzzle and several of the Lost action figures to give away so keep a look out for new contests that will be occurring very soon.

We finally got a Ben flashback episode and it was a good one. I was looking forward to learning more about the Dharma Initiative, but I should have known that they wouldn’t advance that mythology, that gets on my nerves, lets move on… The flashbacks followed Ben’s early years, from his birth through his childhood as well as the infamous “incident” (was that the incident?). When Ben’s mother died after giving birth to him, Ben’s father Roger Linus (aka WorkMan) got a job with the Dharma Initiative. Ben, like many others on the show, is able to see dead people and sees his dead mother. While searching for her he runs into a long haired man who I believe was that eyeliner loving man Richard, and if so those people don’t age. Young Ben reminded me of Harry Potter.

Another important flashback was the purge of the Dharma Initiative. In this flashback the Others / Hostiles gas all of the Dharma people, with the exception of Ben who personally gasses his father. The symptoms caused by this gas reminded me of what the sickness was alleged to have looked like. Perhaps this was how the members of Rousseau’s team were killed.

On the island the events surrounded Ben and Locke’s journey to visit Jacob. When they arrive at Jacob’s house we find out that Jacob is the invisible man, or is he? A spooky voice says “Help Me” to Locke when things start going crazy in Jacob’s house. During the commotion right after Ben tells Jacob to stop “You’ve had your fun” Ben is pushed against the wall and as the camera pans back to the chair we see a shadowy figure, Jacob.

Back on the beach Jack and Juliet have apparently chosen to band together with the other survivors after being accused of conspiring against them. This will lead up to the finale which looks to be an all out war between the others and survivors.

At the end of this episode Locke and Ben are trekking back to the others camp when Ben shows Locke a mass grave filled with Dharma employees. At this point Ben whips out a gun and shoots Locke. Will Locke live or die? What’s the deal with Jacob? What is the Dharma Initiative? Perhaps we will know the answers by 2010.
